Christ in You - Wherever you go

Christ in You - Wherever you go
Colossians 3:18-4:6

1. Your life is a witness in your home to the reality of Christ.
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭18-21‬ NIV)

Submission does not mean inequality.
Submit means giving up independence and freedom.
Both wives and husbands are to submit.
Just as wives are to submit to their husbands, husbands are also to lovingly sacrifice for their wives, just as Christ sacrificed himself for us.
There is joy in obedience. Children need to listen to the wisdom of their parents. Parents need to recognize that rules without relationship leads to rebellion.
Fathers need to be equally responsible for bringing up their children. Fathers need to serve their children and give our lives like Christ did. Spend time with them, take delight in them, praise them. Reflect Christ at home.

2. Your life is a witness at work to the reality of Christ.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭22-25‬ NIV)
Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven. (‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ NIV)

Whatever our work is, be diligent, just as if you're working for the Lord.
Laziness at work is as bad as stealing, which is a sin.
We are serving Christ, and He is our ultimate reward.
Is our work an act of worship? Worship while we work.
Soli Deo Gloria. All glory be given to God alone. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soli_Deo_gloria

3. Wherever you go, pray for your witness for Christ.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. (‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭2-4‬ NIV)

Pray for an open door for The Message, wherever we are.

4. Wherever we go, be wise in our witness for Christ.
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭5-6‬ NIV)

Our life is a witness to the reality of Christ.
Let the life of Jesus in you, flow through you, to others wherever you go.
