LifeFlow: Becoming Like Christ

1. God's plan for you is to make you more like Jesus.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (Romans 8:28, 29 ESV)
The only way that the Life of Jesus can flow through you is when it develops within you.
2. The goal of discipleship is to make you more like Jesus.
my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you! (Galatians 4:19 ESV)
3. God puts together the Body of Christ to make you more like Jesus.
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, (Ephesians 4:11-13 ESV)
Analogy of Camelback and water flow:
- is Jesus lifted up in your life that will enable Him to flow through you (gravity)?
- perhaps there is some pressure in your life right now. God may be allowing this to occur so that His life may be demonstrated through you (squeezing the bag)

LifeFlow: Live in the Light
LifeFlow: Live in the Light
1 John 1:1-10

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:1-10 ESV)
1. Because God is Light, to live in fellowship with God, you must live in the Light.
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5 ESV)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 ESV)s
2. Since there is no darkness in God, if you live in the dark, you are not living in fellowship with God.
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (1 John 1:6 ESV)
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8 ESV)
If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:10 ESV)
- when we live in the dark, we are hiding from the reality of our sin, and hiding from the truth
3. To live in the Light, you must embrace the truth.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 ESV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 ESV)
- are there any areas in our life that we are living in the dark?
